Consider one of the teams that you work in now. Are they high-functioning? If so, what are they doing right and if not, what areas could they improve in?
Yes I believe my team is a highly functioning team. My team members communicate openly and share ideas that will benefit the group. We offer help to each other and collaborate without conflict to achieve our common goal.
I currently work on a small surgical unit where the entire interdisciplinary team works together cohesively. The team exhibits the common elements and attributes that contribute to a high functioning team. For example, since the nursing staff work so closely with the surgeons, there is mutual trust and respect.
Yes, my team is highly functioning. We support and help each other to provide high-quality, patient-centered care. For instance, the team collaborates effectively, with specialists consulting each other on complex cases.
In reviewing this module I realized that I have not gotten the opportunity to work in a high-functioning team in healthcare as yet. I do believe however that I have worked with teams, which have achieved satisfactory results.
The teams I worked in missed progressing further to becoming high performing units as certain characteristics like regular team meetings which encourage team communication and engage team members were not planned. If properly planned, they may have given workers opportunities to discuss role clarity and also allowed the chance to consistently review client needs and achieve greater client satisfaction.
As a new nurse I hope that I can eventually work in an environment that delivers exemplary care through the practice of the high functioning team habits.
very educative
I truly believe in checking the competency of a PSW or a new graduate nurse before assigning any task. It will eliminate the errors. Some people might not be outspoken or will try to attempt and this can cause harm. It was very informative and guidance for every step.
The team I currently work with is generally high-functioning, demonstrating strong collaboration and clear communication. We effectively coordinate tasks and support each other, which enhances our overall productivity and morale. However, to further improve, we could benefit from more structured feedback sessions and regular check-ins to address any emerging issues proactively. Additionally, fostering opportunities for professional development and team-building activities could strengthen our cohesion and ensure we continue to work efficiently together.
In my current team, we are high-functioning. What we do right includes effective communication, where all team members feel heard and respected, and strong collaboration, as we consistently work together towards common goals.
currently, I am in my clinical, and the team I am working with demonstrates strong communication and support.
Yes my team is high functioning because I am almost done my clinical, and they have supported me in a lot of ways to succeed.
My result is 65. I am a good listener and always willing to receive feedback from others. I need to improve my leadership skills, as my results suggest I can be a good leader.
I am at my final consolidation now. I am satisfied with my team as all members are cooperative, respectful and use interprofessional communications effectively in the best interest of patients and in accordance to Code of Conduct of CNO.
I am satisfied with my team as all members are cooperative, respectful and use interprofessional communications effectively in the best interest of patients and in accordance to Code of Conduct of CNO. In our post-op unit patients are coming after total knee and hip replacement, and fast and effective interprofessional communications are playing crucial role for reduce of medical mistakes and improvement of safety and quality of care provided.
Yes, the team I am working with right now is high-functioning. They work collaboratively to achieve the goal of safe and quality patient-centered care. We are a butterfly care approach home and implement evidence-based practices and a Gentle Persuasive Approach to provide care to residents diagnosed with dementia. We as a cohesive team improve through results from departmental audits and feedback received from peers, residents, and family members.
We have consistently had a high functioning team, but due to an increase of senior staff retirement it was resulted in new team member being added and it changed the function level of the team we are accustom to. I believe with will return to high functioning once all of our team members are comfortable in their roles and the role overlap process and shared knowledge is active and staff are engaged.
The team at the group home where I currently work is generally collaborative and supportive, excelling in managing residents’ behavioral needs. However, improvements are needed in consistent communication, balanced task delegation, and proactive conflict resolution. Implementing regular check-ins, clarifying roles, and addressing conflicts directly could enhance teamwork and overall effectiveness.
One of the teams I currently work in is moderately high-functioning but still has room for improvement. They excel in collaboration and supporting one another during busy shifts. Team members are approachable, communicate well, and share a common goal of providing quality care. This creates a positive and respectful work environment.
In my role as an RPN scrub nurse in the OR department, I would describe our team as moderately high-functioning with room for growth. We excel in maintaining clear communication and collaboration during procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency. However, there are areas where we could improve, such as consistently assessing and addressing the team’s knowledge and understanding of updated protocols. High-functioning teams are built on trust, shared goals, and continuous learning, and while we demonstrate many of these qualities, dedicating more time to team-based education and feedback sessions could enhance our cohesion and performance further.
