Webinar: RPNs and MAID: Understanding Medical Assistance in Dying in Canada

On Wednesday, October 14th at 5:00pm-6:00pm Eastern, Dying With Dignity Canada will offer a virtual presentation on medical assistance in dying (MAID). In this session, we’ll cover the legislative and judicial progression of assisted dying in Canada, the current eligibility criteria and safeguards for MAID, and some of the ongoing barriers to access and challenges in the assisted dying space today. Amanda Coventry-Berridge is the Program Coordinator at Dying With Dignity Canada, where she is responsible for the national webinar program, leads the national Independent Witness & Proxy Volunteer Program, and provides client support to hundreds of people across Canada every year through DWDC’s Support Team. Originally set for a career in public policy, Amanda was drawn to DWDC and its mission after the loss of her grandmother, whose Alzheimer’s diagnosis redefined her understanding of grief, love, autonomy, and end-of-life choice.
