In my IPAC management role it is important to continually set a good example and role model the expectations of both clients and staff. Of course at the end of the day, we are all humans and can make mistakes. Not realizing one busy morning, I had left my office and headed into the communal dining area with no mask or goggles on. It was a client who said, “Oh, it’s so lovely to see your smile!” – I was mortified! I of course put on a mask right away, washed my hands, and put on a new pair of goggles. At shift change that evening, we discussed what not to do, using myself as the example and talked about the risk I put others at for potentially picking something up.
