I recently began working at a nursing clinic, and during my first orientation shift with a coworker I realized they were not following IPAC practices. They would use the same saline bottles between clients instead of getting a new one for each client. They also did not always wipe down the chairs or anything the client had touched. Taking that extra time to grab a new saline bottle and cleaning between clients can prevent the potential spread of infection and ensure safe treatment for all.
