I think I am a doer for when faced with decisions to make I go into action making decisions. I will call upon my staff if the situation has something to do with a change that needs to be made on my unit and I value their input.

I am typically a very confident take charge woman/nurse. There was a time years back when I was working with a staff nurse who intimidated me a bit for, as it turned out, she possesses the same personality traits I do. Not knowing this about her I admit I was a bit shy around her for I wasn’t sure how my talking or giving my input would be received. So I would “allow” her to be the doer and I became the follower. Over the years we have formed a bond and are now solid peers. Found out she was actually afraid of me so over compensated her style to try to come across as more confident then she actually was.
