COVID 19 in Hospital
Elimination: Keeping infected persons isolated and away from facility and limiting public contact (Staff and patients)
Substitution: No substitution applicable for a virus, focus should be on elimination and control.
Engineering Controls: Equipment used per patient where possible. Curtain isolation between beds, and complete isolation of affected persons. Cleaning of high touch areas like bathrooms. Vaccinations.
Administrative Controls: Policies in place to ensure staff were vaccinated, screening and controls at entry to hospital, limitation of contact with outside visitors, hand hygiene auditing of staff, social distancing and anyone presenting with symptoms to test and isolate as indicated. Proper education and signage.
PPE: PPE requirements followed per procedure for hospital, unit, room as indicated. Proper donning/doffing and disposal of PPE. N95 masks available and staff tested regularly.
