This is so important that we take these opportunities to empower our fellow colleagues. I recall when I was in nursing school and still now years later while my daughter is in nursing school the saying was and still is “Nurses eat their young”. When I first started my career in a hospital setting I found this to be VERY true! They were scary, wouldn’t help the newer nurses and seemed very unapproachable. I believe it is very important to change this saying and be the ones to support newer professionals in the field and make them feel welcomed and share our skills with them. Sometimes it can be very daunting and overwhelming in the medical field especially if you feel you have no one approachable to go to, to teach you. What you get taught in school verse what actually happens when you start working are two very different things.
