An example of this that comes to mind is speaking up at our monthly staff meeting. We all try to be constructive and thoughtful in our comments, but sometimes frustrations can be triggered. A colleague expressed concern about the inexperienced new staff and how there are just not enough hours in the day to do our work and double check theirs. I suggested that we need to perhaps have our Clinical Educator do a skills fair as we often did pre pandemic. There are a lot of new faces on the unit and it might also be a great opportunity for seasoned staff to refresh their skills but also teach some the Nursing tricks we have all learned over the years. The idea was accepted by the staff and we are looking forward to the opportunity to do some hands on training!
