As much as the two are alike and many many similar qualities, I do believe that there is a difference. From previous experience I can say that not many Managers have leadership qualities. The main difference between the two is that leaders inspire people while managers supervise people. For example, managers will focus on the work place issues and achieving goals by controlling situations to reach or exceed their objectives. Whereas leaders will focus on what those goals are and motivating people to achieve them.
