As a staff nurse Covid 19 has changed nursing for the good and bad unfortunately. Covid has increased for the better in infection controls for long term care. Pooling residual Covid 19 vaccine does not meet the best practice due to microorganisms. If one vial becomes contaminated this practice can spread contamination to the others, prolonging presence of the pathogen and increasing the potential for disease transmission. Also Moderna and Pfizers vaccines contain no preseratives which help stop microbial growth or other germs.
