My response is to Seanettes post. Very well said Seanette. There is a difference between leaders and managers. I have had good managers, and not so good. I think we likely all have at some point. I consider myself a very strong nurse, so when I seek out assistance it is because I need it, in that situation. I once had a resident go completely unresponsive in the dining room. When I called my RN nurse manager for assistance she told me to just deal with it. I being the RPN and she being the RN. I did manage the situation and my resident was OK, but it left a mark. Just because you are in a certain position doesn’t make you good at it. That was the last time I relied on my manager for any assistance. She is no longer at our facility.
