The Fraser Health/Eastern Health Style- Four Moments of Health Poster I feel explains clearly and visualizes the four key standards of hand hygiene. This poster mirrors Public Health Ontario’s official guidelines
This poster would work well at the medical clinic due to :
1.Simplicity/ User -friendly – no cluttered text
      2.Clarity- visual cues
      3. Rural Practicality- easy to display- can be posted by sinks, staff rooms, alcohol sanitizer stations
      4. Staff Education tool

        Hi Melissa,

I like the poster example you provided, as it was a good quick reminder for healthcare workers, especially when you work in a fast-paced environment like healthcare settings. I like how it draws my attention right away on the bottom right side of the poster by using a black background and white font color with the 4 moments of hand hygiene. The two pictures provided, ABHR and hand washing, were a quick and easy identifier of the types of hand hygiene, and the example of each moment is simplified as well, since the main reasoning why it is important was already mentioned at the top of the poster: Prevention of the spread of microorganisms. This is perfect for healthcare workers who already know the 4 moments of hand hygiene, but are still provided with a simple version of education on it.

I found a poster from the Association of Ontario Mid wives website that I really like. This poster illustrates how to property clean hands with ABHR ( Alcohol based hand rubs).
I also like how it outlines the 4 moments of hand hygiene with simple wording and pictures.
The information on this poster is information pulled from public health resources.
I have attached a picture of the poster below for those interested.

I also like this poster. It is a quick and to the point reminder of the 4 moments of hand hygiene.
In the fast pace environment that we work in it’s always good to have quick simple reminders.
Posters like this remind us why and how we should keep our hands clean and sanitized.

I like this poster from the Public Health Ontario website, which was adapted from the WHO poster “Your 5 moments for Hand Hygiene” (2006).

      Link https://www.publichealthontario.ca/-/media/Documents/9/2008/4-moments-poster-series.pdf

      – The poster tried to capture the important elements of the 4 moments of hand hygiene by showing the healthcare provider in the picture cleaning their hands before patient contact, the hand sanitizer on the wall, and the patient having an IV line as an example for aseptic procedure.
      – It includes a simplified text version of each of the 4 moments of hand hygiene.
      – It has a table text version where each moment of hand hygiene has a corresponding when and why explanation for each moment.

      – The PDF also includes a zoomed or magnified version of each moment of hand hygiene for improved readability (larger font) and pictures illustrating specific examples of hand hygiene moments.
      – The poster in general had 3 main colors that work well with each other. The use of a white and blue background establishes a clean look appropriate for the message the poster wants to convey. The black font color for texts shows simplicity and an easy-to-read look on a white background poster.

        Hello Mauei Caela,

I believe we have chosen the same poster and I can agree with you on the fact that the poster you have chosen captures the most important part of the 4 moments of hand hygiene. I agree with you on the basis that it is a very simple poster however, it conveys such a straightforward message. I appreciate how you considered the colors of the poster as well as I had never even thought of that. Now that you mentioned it I can see why the color choices matter.

I really like this poster as well! The fact that it gives a rationale as to why hand hygiene is required at each moment. I believe that that piece of knowledge is so important for iPAC measures because these measures can be used outside of the traditional health care setting to prevent spread of community acquired illnesses.

The image I have chosen that best represents the 4 moments of hand hygiene is attached below.

      https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.studocu.com%2Fen-ca%2Fdocument%2Flaurentian-university%2Fnursing-praxis-and-professional-caring%2F4-moments-for-hand-hygiene-single-poster-public-health-ontario%2F11282954&psig=AOvVaw2la16I40o-vYKsPQ9UXXeQ&ust=1750564768423000&source=images&cd=vfe&opi=89978449&ved=0CBQQjRxqFwoTCKDrqIvQgY4DFQAAAAAdAAAAABAE

I chose this image because I feel it is very simple and gets the job done efficiently. Not only is this poster visually appealing but also simple and puts important information forward. It also focuses on further education as it provides the “Why” for specific tasks being performed. I believe that if people know the reason behind a task it becomes easier for them to understand it. This poster is not just helpful for staff but also for clients as well. It does not utilize difficult medical terminology and as mentioned before it is very to the point. This poster utilizes images that can also help overcome a language barrier as the images are enough to convey a message.

The poster that I chose is from Provincial Infection Control Network of British Columbia.
This is a very basic poster of the 4 moments of hand hygiene, but effective.
The wording is simple and easy to understand.
The pictures used as examples are basic but relatable to nursing tasks.

        Hi Rebecca,

I really like that you chose this particular poster to represent the 4 moments. It is visually appealing as it contains an image to go with each of the moments. This poster would definitely catch my eye if I were to see it in a clinical setting. Thank you for sharing.

The poster I chose to represent the 4 moments of hand hygiene is from Ontario Health. I think this poster clearly illustrates the moments thoroughly and for a bonus point it also explains WHY the step needs to be taken. The poster can be used in clinical settings with bold arrows in and around the central image each illustrating the 4 moments. As for someone who is a visual learner I chose this image to help me further understand the single most important step taken to reduce harmful bacteria spreading.
