My interest in this course is to maximize my worth and role as an RPN and be able show my colleagues and employer my potential and ability to lead and grow. Hi everyone! My name is Catherine and I am a new RPN with 2 years experience. Coming to this course at this time feels a blessing as I navigate the health care field working with RN’s, MD’s and the interprofessional teams in a Retirement setting. I am a lifelong learner which supports my thinking out of the box! I look forward to learning and growing alongside each of you.

      Hello everyone,
My name is Adel and I have been nursing for almost 20 years. I currently work as an infection control professional with the Grey Bruce Health Unit, IPAC Hub. I recently joined our nursing practice leadership committee within my workplace and I also sit on the WeRPN board of directors. I hope to gain some knowledge to help advocate the role of the RPN within my current workplace and within the board role.
We are forever discussing role clarity and minimized in the workplace. It would be nice to have a fulsome discussion around utilizing RPNs to their fullest scope within a Health Unit role.
I look forward to the discussions with everyone.

      Hello Everyone!

My name is Marilyn Oliver and I will be your facilitator for the course. We have a small group but I am sure the conversations will be rich. I have been an RPN for 18 years and have worked in various roles and sectors and my current role is Professional Practice Associate here at WeRPN. Regardless of the my role I feel there is always more to learn and through collaboration anything is possible. Looking forward to the great conversation ahead.

      Hello!

I am Teresa Wetselaar and I am a health care leader in the north. I am an RN for 30 years and NP for 9 years. I am a life long learner. I am taking this course to learn about the role of RPN, and how we can optimize our RPN’s role. We currently employ 3 RPNs that I believe are working to their full scope. We are working well together, but always open to learning if we can “do it better”.

Hi, again! At this moment in time, my one question that I hope to find some answers to during this course is how to introduce, implement, and encourage changes in person-centered care practices, attitudes in person centered care and professional accountabilities across the PSW, RPN, RN, and Management team.

Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca Fritz. I’m not a nurse but I did work for 10 years at an Ontario college in an administrative position supporting PSW/RPN programming and I’m currently a health care leader with both RNs and RPNs on my team. I’m taking this course to find out how I can better optimize and support the nursing roles within my organization. Working in primary care, I am interested in learning how I can enable nurses to practice to their full scope in order to improve patient care and overall team effectiveness.

      Hi Everyone!

My name is Daniela and I am a full-time RPN in long-term care.
I just joined this course today but look forward to catching up as well as learning more on how to optimize my role as RPN in the long-term care setting. The lines have always felt a bit blurred with role clarity (i.e. in working with RNs, RPNs and PSWs), so I hope to feel more confident in my role as RPN after taking this course.

Hi everyone, my name is Sadie. I am an RN and currently work as a Project Manager with an Ontario Health Team.

A lot of my work is focused on supporting primary care, where RPNs make up a large part of the nursing workforce. As discussed in the readings, RN education does not provide much information on the RPN role or how RNs and RPNs can work together effectively. This aligns with my experience, and I am hoping this course will help fill that gap and allow me to better understand how RPNs can be supported in working to their full scope of practice.

I also just wanted to acknowledge that I am getting started a bit late. I look forward to catching up and learning with everyone!
