      Hi there,

My name is Rebecca, I am a clinical community supervisor, I have history working in acute care as well as other areas of primary care. I started my role in health care later in life and am happy I made the choice to explore this path. I thrive in my current role and am looking for more avenues to grow within my place of work and as a nurse. An interesting fact about myself is I work out every morning before I start my day to give me energy to have a successful day.

      Hello Everyone,

My name is Claire, and I am an RPN working at a residential hospice in Guelph. I too came to health care later in life and I have absolutely no regrets on my choice of my 2nd career as a bedside palliative care nurse. I was a horticulturalist in my previous professional world and I love how intertwined they have now understood to be. Each of these roles are approached with the same “plant or person” centred lens with the best possible outcome for either in the forefront of mind. I love the holistic nature of how best to care the living.. in either of these roles.

I know that becoming stronger in my knowledge of leadership and how best to support my hospice and co workers can only assist me personally and professionally. This is why I have enrolled in this course and I am looking forward to learning with all of you !

Hi Everyone! My name is Janet and I work in Windsor. I decided to become a nurse in my 40’s and after working in a retirement home for over 15 years, I took the leap of faith and became a RPN. Having no regrets only daily opportunities to learn and grow.

I work in home care as an on call visiting nurse and also in an acute care hospital, To which has been on hold due to an accident that has enabled me to work in that setting. I took my home care and retirement home experiences and became a Community Clinical Supervisor, Overseeing UCP’s. This wonderful leadership opportunity has allowed me to work with some amazing leaders in my community. Assisting new and seasoned staff in providing care to those in need.

With this course I’m looking to strengthen my previous leadership skills and fine tune the strongest and learn to improve my weaknesses. Looking forward to growing along with you all.

The reason I’m taking this course is to grow professionally and enhance my leadership skills to better support my colleagues and students I work with.

Hi there! pals, Ruth is my name. I work as a registered practical nurse in an independent and AL living facility. My place of employment is “Walden Circle Retirement Community”. I’m incredibly happy there. I can use it to investigate the knowledge I’ve learned in school. I’m here to dispel the myth that “leaders are born, not made.” Real leadership is the result of training and experience.

I chose dedication/communication skills/accountability because this is what I see in my “Role Model” daily and then some. She works two jobs, is employed FT , M-F and works elsewhere every other weekend! She exudes and takes on extra educational opportunities such as “Best Practice Champion”. Her exemplar is the reason that I am taking this online leadership course.

Hi, this is Bev and I’ve been an RPN for almost 20 years. I’ve previously worked in Med/Surg, long term care and most recently as a clinic nurse in family medicine. The COVID pandemic allowed me an amazing experience co-leading a multidisciplinary team with assessment clinics, paramedic outreach programs and organizing and running vaccine clinics. We are currently transitioning from a small clinic to a large health hub and I’m looking forward to expanding my role. I’m working on certificates in management and HR and I’m hoping to gain more knowledge on leadership skill and how to apply them effectively.

I also signed up for this course expecting it to start in the new year, but it became available immediately so I’m jumping in!

Hello! My name is Holly and I have been an RPN for about 6 years. I have worked on and off as a nurse during this time but within the last 2 years have been back at it! I currently work at a retirement home and coordinate with new residents on the care floors as well as pick up nursing shifts. Our facility is very dependent on our nurses to take charge and leadership of the shifts and also in my full time role so I thought this course would be the perfect addition to help me sharpen those skills! Very excited to start the course 🙂

I enjoy the diversity Canada has to offer. As a travel nurse I must be able to communicate effectively, I am hoping to learn new communication skills in order to accomplish that.

      Hello,
I decided to take this leadership course to enhance my skills and understand the dynamics of effective leadership better. I believe that being adaptable, organized, self-confident, energetic, and socially skilled are crucial in guiding teams and fostering collaboration.
An interesting fact about me is that I’m always volunteering to bring groups together. I’m approachable, and anyone can come to me with any concerns about tasks or disagreements. I’ve often been chosen as the group leader for nursing projects because of my ability to unite team members and ensure that everyone feels heard and supported. I look forward to gaining new knowledge and further developing my leadership abilities in this course!
      Thanks for reading.
